Tell us about your children.

I have one son, Jacob Mastin, who is in second grade at Buena Vista.

Does your family contribute to WCEF K-12?

Of course! We’ve been contributing for 2+ years, ever since Jacob started at BV.

Why do you think it’s important to support WCEF K-12 every year?

I believe that the educational programs funded by WCEF truly help our children to reach their full potential. Our young people will need to succeed in a global economy, and our yearly contribution to WCEF supports the training and curriculum—now including science—they’ll need in the future.

How have your children directly benefited from your contribution to WCEF K-12?

My son takes such pride in his art projects—when he brings them home he shares them with the whole family. I know he is getting a quality education, in part because of the programs WCEF supports, like Art and Music. And PE has definitely helped him to be more confident when he plays sports. He even tells me how PE keeps his muscles stronger!

Why did you choose to be a volunteer for WCEF K-12?

Everyone has a role to play in ensuring the success of our children, and that includes making sure our fundraising events are successful, as well. WCEF is also a great way to connect with like-minded people while we act as ambassadors for the school and the community. And I love being a part of providing high-impact programming to our kids!
